I am a lifelong Wyandotte County resident and have lived in our District 31 since the year 2000. I have lived a life of service to my country and to my community. I want my country, state, and community to be a safe place where all of us can afford to live for years to come. It is important to be a good listener, understand each other whether we agree or disagree with something, and work together to shape our future.

Transparency and accountability are extremely important to all of us in this day and age. We deserve to be informed and have a voice and a vote in what is coming into, and going out of, our county. I believe in Town Halls, neighborhood meetings, newsletters and the like, but only if they are constructive and don’t digress into shouting matches or condescending vitriol.

I am committed to listening to you and serving you in District 31. In my walks throughout our community, the number one issue on everyone’s mind is taxes. We need to lower, preferably eliminate, property taxes. People are being forced out of their homes and are leaving Kansas altogether for this reason. Our taxes are sky high. If you already own your own home, you shouldn’t have to pay a property tax on it! So, how do you replace that funding? You don’t. Cities and municipalities would be forced to budget with what they get! Public safety and basic services are mandated, and they are required to fund these fully before anything else. If all of our tax money is no longer available, there is no money available for millions in tax breaks and wasteful spending of our tax dollars.

Data Centers are another topic of concern with our neighbors. I am against them. The BPU has already come out and said that they cannot supply all the water and energy to support them and take care of our needs as well. That says all I need to know right there. Elon Musk has already come out and said that he hopes to put data centers in space and in the oceans as well. If that’s the case, who is left to foot the bill for maintaining Kansas data centers when the technology has moved on? You and I. I’m pretty sure that no safeguards of any kind were put in place for the long term.

I will always take the stand to protect Kansas lands and Kansas resources for Kansans! It is ours to keep. No foreign interests. I will always be a friend to the farmer and to small businesses.

I am willing to work with you to keep our community safe, provide affordable wages for families, and work to have excellent schools.
